Displaying in a Vacant Storefront for next two months

Can you believe that I found a space to accomodate my huge piece? Through the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, I was able to access this vacant space, former home to a grocery store and then interiors shop. The lights were added yesterday and when I cruised by to make sure the timer was working, I couldn't believe the dramatic effect at night. This work will be up for two months in Fremont, an art infused business district in Seattle.

Exploring display options

I have a bunch of Ikea frames - 9" squares - that I took the glass out of - and I also have these small gessoed panels -
so I'm mounting the constructions on to these and playing around with different arrangements - I'm kind of partial to the odd packing together layout, rather than the organized grids - I do want to see lots more of these - like covering a wall. They are strange and familiar and odd and sweet all at the same time. Still exploring.

Work continues

I'm getting ready for a show in a vacant storefront space here in Seattle soon. One installation involves lots of small
forms. Color and surface treatment coming.

I'm DONE

The MFA program finished up last weekend - We all graduated - and it feels great.
I'm back in Seattle - resting up a little and making some plans for a show in some sort of non-traditional space -
Here is a picture of all 18 of us on the last day of our residency - Watch here for more updates and a re-design soon.
